Recently, on BBC Radio 4’s flagship news programme, The Today Programme, Henry Sutton talked about the 50th anniversary of the University of East Anglia (UEA)’s renowned Creative Writing course, and its enduring legacy, which has long been championed as one of a kind.

UEA pioneered the teaching of Creative Writing in the UK, establishing the first MA in Creative Writing in 1970 and the first Ph D in Creative and Critical Writing in 1987.

So, I wanted to know other parameters to measure pros and cons: - which course is more employable, for e.g., if I wanted to work at a publishing house next, which course should I choose?

- networks of publishing houses - location: Norwich vs Coventry Would be great if current/ old students and anybody interested could share experiences with with me, pros and cons and help me make a good decision!

An unrivalled number of alumni across all strands have achieved literary success since graduating.

Indeed, from Kazuo Ishiguro, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017, to Ian Mc Ewan, Booker Prize–winning author, the prose strand are particularly good at making headlines, often catering towards the largest readership.

One factor to bear in mind is that creative writing is UEA's signature course.

Creative writing is to UEA what maths is to Cambridge, economics to LSE, meteorology to Reading, sports science to Loughborough. Think carefully about what you think this course will give you.

Yes I completely understand, the getting into publishing was an after thought, that is not going to be my primary parameter to choose between Warwick and UEA.

I'll apply for internships and work experience regardless of where I go (and I've already got some), but it would be great if you could tell me other pros and cons that can help me choose.
