If you’re an American poet who’s already celebrated their 40th birthday and has yet to publish your first collection, you’re in luck: you’re eligible to submit your manuscript to the Poetry Foundation’s first book contest, honoring Emily Dickinson — whose work, of course, also went unpublished for far too long. This biannual prize honors mid-career writers who have recently published their third, fourth or fifth work of fiction. By submitting an entry, the contestant confirms that he/she owns the right to all his/her written submissions and that the rights of persons included in his/her written submissions have not been violated.
This boutique publishing firm offers a prize of a publishing contract to its contest winner.
It also aims to inspire society to learn from the young minds and to think about how each of us can make a difference in the world.
The theme for this year's contest is: CREATING A SOCIETY FULL OF KINDNESS As 20th anniversary special edition, this year’s contest involves action in addition to writing, so that participating in the contest directly contributes to creating a better world.
